With companies like Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) creating a battery that can power a home without the help of the power grid and Google Glass being used to help people with Parkinson's Disease, it is clear that technology has changed the way the world works. Another way technology has changed the world is 3-D printing. With a 3-D printer someone can print out a bike, but they could also make a workable gun. This technology has opened a whole new way of looking at thing especially now since a 3-D printer is close to being able to print out human skin. According to CNN, beauty companies like L'Oreal have teamed up with Biotech companies like Organovo (NYSE: ONVO) to try to use 3-D printers to replicate human skin. Scientist have been able to printer human skin, but commercial applications are still a few years away. These companies want to test its products on different types of skin, like men's skin or sensitive skin, so, the companies use the printer to make certain types of for whatever product it is testing. "In the syringe format, it would be possible to create different skin types," said Arnold Bos, a technology consultant at Lux Research, "You can recreate sensitive skin, or man's skin."
