According to CNN, AT&T (NYSE: T) and the National Security Agency had a partnership for years giving the agency retrieved information and data from billions of emails. The phone company gave the NSA this information under "legal rules." They were given access to information regarding emails on networks. The NSA was given access from AT&T to monitor communications at the United Nations. The date of this partnership with AT&T and NSA spanned about from 2003 to 2013 before Edward Snowden massive leak of secret documents. This partnership was discovered by a document by the NSA and doesn't say AT&T by name directly, but through code names. This is a partnership, not a contractual relationship," one NSA document reads.
