Millennials haven't had it easy in the past few years with the recession, high levels of unemployment and under employment and deskilling due to the internet. A new study by the Educational Testing Services, found that the Millennials will dominate the job market for the next 50 years, but the major problem is they are less prepared than their international peers which puts them at a disadvantage in the ever increasingly global economy. According to Yahoo, the study shows the top-performing Millennials are not measuring up to their overseas counter-parts because of mistrust of the government, decreased civil engagement, increased rate of incarceration, poor health and much more. Also nearly two-thirds of the generation have low math scores. Among 22 countries who participated, the U.S. ranked 21st, only beating Spain in low test scores. “These results are suggesting that a significant chunk of Americans will have trouble moving up in the labor market and getting out of lower-wage jobs,” says Harry Holzer, professor of public policy at the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy.
